Secondary Program ...
King's College provides secondary schooling at all levels to Year 12 and VCE. Our program is distinctive in
its well-rounded and balanced approach, as we seek to foster students in a sincere enthusiasm for learning.
This includes sound academic education based on good work habits, and a strong emphasis on sport and cultural
interests. Our staff provide exceptional levels of encouragement and attention, for each individual student
to fully develop in their areas of talent and interests.
Taught by dedicated staff, the curriculum helps shape all-important values, and a Christian outlook on life.
We place high priority on the qualities of character that are vital to stability and confidence in young people
today.
To encourage a sense of belonging and a friendly atmosphere, students are assigned a homeroom group and teacher,
where they work together for many classes. Each group has its own home teacher who takes them for several
classes, who knows each student well, and monitors each student's work and progress carefully.
Students are challenged to link their learning to their own personal growth and the development of their
character. We emphasize the Christian education of the whole child - mind, heart, spirit, body, creativity,
and social relationships.
Active and independent learning is encouraged through hands-on aspects of the curriculum, through personal
attention from their teachers, through individualized projects, and a broad range of subjects.
Every student has opportunities to test untried skills in sports and music, stage productions, speech, outdoor
education, and many others.
All students enjoy a major trip during each year. Students return happy and exhausted from these memorable times!
Because this is the stage when young people are beginning to ask serious questions about life, our program
caters for their personal development, and introduces them to the rich spiritual resources of the Christian
outlook. They encounter the great teachings of the Bible, taught in lively and positive ways. They are
introduced to the stories of famous men and women in all walks of life from the Christian heritage, as
outstanding role models. Students are encouraged to grow in confidence in their faith, and to put their
faith to work in their school and home and daily living.
