Excursions

Each class enjoys several local excursions during the year to enhance out of school experience.

Camps

In the first term all grade six students go on a camp to a local site for outdoor education and to strengthen friendships. Grade five enjoys an overnight camp at Sovereign Hill.

Choir and Music Groups

Choirs of students perform on various occasions throughout the year and are generally successful in the Warrnambool Eisteddfod. All students play in band, recorder groups, percussion groups, creative music etc.

Aussie Sports Program

Students are encouraged to participate in the Aussie Sports Program available from Gds 2 - 6.

Football Teams

Grades four and above make up football teams to play according to modified rules against other schools in the second term. The Auskick program operates for both boys and girls.

Interschool Sports

Schools of comparable size in the district compete against each other. The best performed athletes, swimmers and cross country runners at school level compete against each other in interschool events, and King's College students qualify for regional, zone and state championships.

Church Service

The annual Church Service is held in Term 1 for the school community, including parents, students, staff and Council members.

Public Speaking Training and Eisteddfod

Grade 6 students participate in public speaking training under the guidance of a qualified tutor. All Year 6 students participate in the Speech, Drama and Public Speaking sections of the Warrnambool Eisteddfod as part of their curriculum. Grade Fives have introductory performances leading up to Grade 6.

Grandparents' Day

Grandparents and friends are invited to see the children at work and participate in classroom activities during a school day. This is an encouraging family day. The date is always the 3rd Thursday in May.

School Bush Dance

A school bush dance is held every year to allow the children to perform the dances they learn during the year. Parents are invited. This is a great evening for the school community.

Speech Night

The School's final assembly for the year is in the form of a Speech night held at the Performing Arts Centre at which the annual awards are made to recognise student achievement, and students provide some items of entertainment.
  • Other activities include:
  • Book Week
  • French Day
  • Spectra Science
  • Book Club
